The days are ticking down, its hard to believe we are already in August!!

Counting down the days!!  100 slumbers until Halloween!!

Just to add a side note, it has been pointed out to me many times that I do not count my days right.  I count my days they way I have since I was a child.  I always marked down the days to how many sleeps.  I count the day we are are in and when I sleep and wake up that is how may more days are left.  I always would get a calendar and count backwards from 30 being day 1 until the day I was in.  Come on we all did it with Christmas ;-)  Anyway that is my logic and I can not deviate away from it.  Take me as I am.

Three Days To Go...

Just to update everyone. As of right now, I have added everyone who has emailed me to the list of this year's participants. Thank you all very much. Putting the list together this year has been a far easier task because of this. I greatly appreciate it.

I've also added everyone who responded in the comments section of the past batch of posts. If you notified this way, you're good, but please email me anyway and include a link to your blog(s) and the name you'd like that blog to be listed as. This way I'll be sure to have your email on hand when I send out the reminder next year for that Countdown to Halloween.

If you haven't yet responded, but would like to be included as a participant in this year's Countdown to Halloween, there's still time. Simply email me with a link to your blog(s) and the name(s) you'd like them listed as.

Due to the high volume of emails, I am only emailing people back if there's some problem with the link, or if I have another question. If you don't hear back from me, assume you are on the list. The list will go up at Midnight, October first. If there are any issues with your blog as it appears, or doesn't appear, you can then let Shawn, or myself know in the comment section attached to the list and one of us will address the problem as soon as possible.

I have not yet taken the time to count the number of participants this year, but it seems comparable to last year's list, and will no doubt expand over the next week.

We're looking forward to reading everyone's blogs. Good luck, don't kill yourselves trying to maintain a daily posting schedule, and most importantly have fun. See you back here in three days.

Promotional Video

Those of you who check out my main blog, "Random Acts of Geekery," probably saw the first version of this video a few days ago... since then, with this separate blog starting up to coordinate things, I've made a slight revision to the end of it to point people here.

Now, you'll notice if you watch it that I've got a logo calling it the "Halloween Countdown," instead of "Countdown to Halloween." That's because I started working on this back in June or July, and didn't know the "official" title at that time... and I kind of dig the logo I came up with. Of course, it doesn't really matter what you call it, so long as it counts down to Halloween, right?

Anyone who wants to post this video to their own participating blog, feel free to do so! And I promise, next year, if I decide to do a new promo video, I'll check with Shawn and John first to see if they've got any logos planned!

Another quick reminder to all of you Hallonauts out there in trick-or-treat-land. There are only 35 days left to prepare for the onslaught of ghoulish fun during 2009's Countdown to Halloween. Seasonal store displays are soon to pop up, so start stocking up on candy, costume materials, scary movies, pictures, podcasts, quotes, and musings. Halloween will be here before you know it!
